In engineering, the word Sigma means a “Summation” or “Answer” to the problem. UPT chose to name their tandem rig Sigma, because it represents a “Summation” of everything they have learned about tandem equipment, and the people who use it, since 1984.
Unlike all other tandem systems, where the drogue was simply tacked onto an existing design, the Sigma was built from the ground up, as a drogue deployed system. Contained within its design is an “answer” to every container related problem UPT has observed.
The Sigma comes in two different models, Sigma and Micro Sigma, as described below.
Sigma can hold the following parachutes. Main Canopy: Sigma 370, Sigma 395. EZ-384, EZ-425. Reserve Canopy: SR370, VR-360.
Micro Sigma can hold the following parachutes. Main Canopy: Sigma 340. Reserve Canopy: SR370, SR340, VR360.
